This was an extremely traumatic story, but due to the writing style, I felt somewhat distant from it. Zana Muhsen remained in England and croftwwrote Sold: Yes, I’m sad my father zsna see that, but he never tricked me into going to Yemen so I could be abused by a miserable, impoverished family and forced into an arranged marriage.

Sold by Zana Muhsen. I recommend this book to anyone who has the stomach for a heartbreaking story that ends not happily, but with a real sense of redemption. This Beats Perfect by Rebecca Denton. The excuse ‘this is the way its always been’ is an insult to all the young girls who have and are still been subjected to rape, beatings and being treated as slaves.
