This great book got a bad deal back in the 80’s with a less than stellar movie rendition, but even with the poor film the story line was compelling back then.
We go back and forth between primarily two points of view: None are the wiser, that is until Bill Smith, investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, is called to the scene of a two plane crash. The biodiversity of pop culture is really, really in danger. The motivation is great on a character level, too–Louise and the rest of her Snatch Team are sacrificing their own lives for the sake of the rest killenium the human race, and FAA investigator Bill Smith’s job and personal curiosity, not to mention his love for Valey, pushes him inevitably toward solving this mystery.
I love time travel stories. I plan to rewatch the film adaptation in the next few days. In the end, Millennium is good as a thriller, but requires an effort above and beyond varey to engage with the heavily contrived nature of the premise.

How many people nowadays can distinguish between the 13th and 14th centuries, less than a thousand years later? The characters were likeable, the plot was intriguing, and the resolution was satisfying. A twonky used to mean some anachronistic object left behind during a snatch, but lately people had begun using the word to refer to the paradox situation that object tended to generate.

How much free will exists when your actions are known, and your ‘uptime’ descendants rely on those actions in order to exist? There are really two worlds in Millennium. While the ending felt a bit rushed, it was satisfying in that it provided some clarity regarding quite a few of the characters.

The biodiversity of pop culture is really, really in danger. There are other large explanatory gaps in the work, things that just don’t add up or are not explained sufficiently. Its a good story from a science fiction point of view.
In parts the story is pretty good. I love good time-travel stories there are a lot of bad ones and this one is a goodie, with a few novel concepts tossed in.
Their greatest fear is what happens if there is a “Grandfather Paradox”, which comes milleniim in most discussions of time travel.
One person found this helpful. As the plane approaches the moment when it is destined to crash, the lost weapon still has not been found. That’s a shame, but at least he pursued his dream. A reread was the best way to write a review. Four because it is a dynamite plot with a detailed attention to time travel paradoxes, something that is necessary in a time travel novel. It has little impact on the story because saving humanity in a disease-ridden world should be motivation enough for a passionate crackpot like Louise. Demon Mass Market Paperback.
