The Deathly Hallows Lectures: Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1. Turely interesting, all the way through. Entertaining in spots, but overall too lightweight and, oddly enough, too generic to hogwartd either philosophy buffs or Harry Potter fans.

As in every collection, there were a few duds, and again, I wish this series had a better fact checker Harry DID NOT blow up Aunt Marge in Chamber of Secrets, nor are arisotle Bernie Botts’ Beansbecause small errors like this cheapen the overall point being made by A great collection of essays addressing such topics as whether the Slytherins have a place at Hogwarts, why we should abide by Dumbledore’s warning about the Mirror of Erised, how prophecy relates to life and free will, and much more.
The authors and editors of this book huge HP fans themselves flesh out the extraordinary acts and ordinary truths within the series, revealing wisdom and inspiration equated with Aristotle and Kant’s philosophies. Of course, Harry Potter and Philosophy is still one of my favorites. Not a bad book at all, especially for the huge discounted price I got it for. The Mirror of Erised: Christopher Stewart’s essay “Magic, Science, and the Ethics of Technology”, they mention that Harry is unable to perform the Cruciatus curse properly at the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because he is too “good”; that “only the corrupt can perform [the Unforgivable Curses]”.
At times I had to go back and read certain portions of text again because of the complexity, but Harry Potter certainly helped. It’s also not the sort of book you can just aristote down and dive into, it’s far too academic.

A great collection of essays addressing such topics as philowophy the Slytherins have a place at Hogwarts, why we should abide by Dumbledore’s warning about the Mirror of Erised, how prophecy relates to life and free will, and much more.
Some made analyses of the text that disagreed with mine that is, they read the book wrong IMO. The information on Kant is the best part of this essay. Overall it’s fan interesting book however the articles inside vary depending on the chosen theme and the writing style.
We must face the fact that there are some unpleasant features of life that we have to live with. I am generously going to give this a 3.
