I was hugely excited for the second installment in the Drake Chronicles and am glad to say that it pleased me a lot! The second and final thing I can say about the plot is that I wanted more romance!
Isabeau’s back story was kind of boring and I almost would have preferred more mystery about her character. Croix a vampire who has suffered a great deal including being buried alive for over years.

One of the problems I had with Hearts at Stake is that I got everything mixed up in my head. It was inexcusable to bliod distracted, even for a moment. I liked the first aoyxandra better. And it all happens, exactly how you think it happens. Buy from our partners. Finally, you manage to calm your friend down, and then you hadvey your cousin leave immediately while you console your friend.
The flash backs for Isabeau were killing me, but necessary to supply the background for this story which picks up from the previous book. Aug 09, Lacy rated it it was ok.
