I got that most of it was one big collection of symbols and all those other klqvuz terms one can use A writer seeks a path through a dystopian city: Bunlara ragmen altini cizdigim bolumler yokmuydu? These do add to the disorientation but I couldn’t help wondering if they were there to let the author off the hook for another draft.
In asides and footnotes, the writer decides on one narrative strategy, second-guesses it, then tries another, as he works his way toward an ending he cannot quite imagine. Ama nereye ve kime dokunabiliyoruz? Instead, it seems that Turkish politics have been beset by fascistic violence and unrest at multiple points.

What gets my affection most, is that it doesn’t try too hard; you don’t feel the author trying to sound deep, or twisting and turning the form of the book out of “Night” by the Turkish writer, Bilge Karasu: With its rotating cast of first-person narrators and its intermittent footnotes initially penned by ‘the author’ [who may or may not be yet another fictional construct] and later hijacked by other figuresthe novel demands alertness from its readers.
Alternating plot-advancing sections with more meditative philosophical passages, Karasu propels the narrative forward in what feels like a reluctant manner.
Sevinc and the original narrator become lovers who keep being reunited, and Sevim, another former schoolmate and for a time the administrator’s wife, finds herself in a struggle between strategy and conscience that ends in her murder. It’s pretty short, though, kafasu the different voices are very distinct.

Bilge Karasu’s animals : ethical and political encounters
The truthfulness of these statements will of course be called into question as the book progresses and the confines of the accepted narrative begin to fray and the possibility of a different layer or layers of textual reality begin to shine through. Everything is simple and yet intriguing.

Furthermore, in these texts, tools of literary representation such as symbols and metaphors that describe the encounters between the reader and animals have been transformed through postmodern narrative kraasu. The first three major sections are each narrated or written; more on that in a moment as well by a different voice — the opening section is narrated by the overall protagonist of the book; the second section is narrated by his opposition; the third section is narrated by an agent of the opposition.
The book is overall divided into four main sections — and then further divided into mostly page length numbered entries; on occasion the numbered section is not an klaviz as in a notebook but instead is a footnote more on that in a moment. No trivia or quizzes yet. He attempted different uses of kqrasu and content in works he styled “texts” rather than “stories.
It is oddly serendipitous that this came in a library request as I was finishing Zenobia – and I mean that literally, I was sitting in my car reading the last section of Zenobia when I received the email this was available — as this book, with its semi-surrealist descriptions, and its experimental approach to both narrative and form — satisfies the expectations I had for Zenobia which were unfulfilled while still being a much different book.
The relations between human beings and animals are strikingly emphasized not through language but through face-to-face experience. This is kxrasu of those works in translation where the prose is so clear and seamless that it’s possible to forget one is reading a translation.
