Nizan also approached the priesthood as a young man but mizan turned away from that decision. This description of Aden Arabie was done by someone who was disenchanted by everything and made a point of not qden trying to integrate. Nizan is pretty pro-violence, and I don’t think this is excused by his being motivated by his anti-colonialism and anti-capitalism.

This book is a cry to change or destroy the evils of greed and boredom. Of life’s ironies, someone whose own record during the Second World War was severely compromised, Jean-Paul Sartre, would rescue this book from obscurity and promote it.
