Most of the Asatru Qsatru have ever met don’t really get into that. After becoming Asatru inI can recite every story of the gods from memory and essentially give everyone a 5 minute run down on every Aesir, Vanir and Jotun, so I waited to buy this book.
A modern beginners soon-to-be-classic. As someone starting with this knowledge base of, essentially, 0, this book was perfect for me. A New Way to Be Human. Asatru is evolving every year with new academic research and many people joining the faith.

The writing is really horrible, I’m sad to say. In a market where there are plenty of books on heathenry that do not meet that standard, this is one of only a very small handful that can be unreservedly recommended.

While I respect the author’s practices, I am afraid her own styles of worship will be seen as the standard by the uninformed reader, despite the author’s attempts to point out that Asatru has no orthodoxy.

The Lord of the Rings: Climb the Joyous Mountain: I learned a lot, since my own knowledge of Norse gods pretty much przctical involved Loki and Thor. She lives somewhere near Axatru. Her interests include gardening, herbalism, mythology and fairy tales, theology, Celtic music, role-playing games, horror movies, and the martial arts.
